DUSHANBE, February 28, 2014, Asia-Plus – The progress of implementation of joint projects of Tajikistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) were discussed here yesterday at a meeting of Mr. Saidrahmon Nazriyev, Deputy Minister o Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan with Mr. Kazuya Sueta, JICA resident Representative in Tajikistan.
The sides reportedly discussed issues related to further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and JICA and new JICA-supported training projects.
Nazriyev and Sueta also discussed development of Tajikistan’s agrarian sector and opportunities of growing its export potential, the source said.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency is an independent governmental agency that coordinates official development assistance (ODA) for the government of Japan. It is chartered with assisting economic and social growth in developing countries, and the promotion of international cooperation.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) started providing technical assistance to Tajikistan in 1991, and Representative Office of JICA in Tajikistan was established in 2006.
