DUSHANBE, May 16, 2014, Asia-Plus – In January-April 2014, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 3 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 625 million U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to the same period of last year the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 103.1 percent.
Processing industry has reportedly accounted for 64.2 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced over the first four months of this year, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water have accounted for 24.9 percent and mining industry has accounted for 10.9 percent.
Of 1,100 industrial enterprises registered in the country 328 enterprises have not been in operation over the report period.
Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 35 has increased, and the output of 40 items has decreased over the same four-month period. Fifteen basic types of industrial products have not been manufactured.
