DUSHANBE, May 27, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, will operate flights from the Tajik northern city of Khujand to the Russian city of Irkutsk beginning on June 13, according to the Tajik Air press center.

It will be the once-weekly service and Boeing 757 will be used for operating this flight.  The flight will be operated on Fridays. A ticket for the flight costs Euro 250.

Besides, Tajik Air plans to resume flights from Khujand to the Russian cities of Yekaterinburg and Samara next month.  A ticket for these flights will cost Euro 220.

Meanwhile Tajik Air has stopped flights from Dushanbe to Irkutsk.

Tajik Air (Tajikistan Airlines) is the national airline of Tajikistan.  The airline has its main hub at the Dushanbe airport, and it retains a secondary focus point at the Khujand airport.  The company started operations on September 3, 1924 as Tajik Aviation. Its first route was Bukhara to Dushanbe, served by Junkers F-13 aircraft.  It is the sixth oldest airline still in operation.

Tajik Air now serves the following destinations: China (Urumqi); Iran (Tehran, Mashhad); Kazakhstan (Almaty); Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek); Russia (Moscow, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg, Samara, Sochi, Surgut, and Yekaterinburg); Tajikistan (Khorog and Khujand); and United Arab Emirates (Sharjah).
