DUSHANBE, January 19, 2015, Asia-Plus -- In 2014, Tajikistan exported 1.326 billion kWh of electricity, which was 37 percent more than in 2013, Ms. Gulnora Hasanzoda, the head of the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 19.
According to her, Tajikistan exported 968 million kWh of electricity in 2013.
In 2014, Tajikistan supplied electricity primarily to Afghanistan (1.1 billion kWh) but also to neighboring Kyrgyzstan (236 million kWh).
Meanwhile, Tajikistan imported 12.6 million kWh of electricity from Kyrgyzstan last year.
