DUSHANBE, January 25, 2014, Asia-Plus -- In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Deputy Finance Minister, Shavkat Sohibov, revealed on January 23 that the revenue part of the national budget for 2014 stood at 13.3 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 2.5 billion U.S. dollars), which was 1.2 percent or 268.3 million somoni more than it was originally planned and 1.8 billion somoni more than in 2013.

“The national budget for 2014 received 11.5 billion somoni of special funds, including 703.9 million somoni in loans and 1 billion somoni in grants for implementation of joint investment projects,” Sohibov said.

According to him, Tajikistan last year signed 28 loan and grant agreements on implementation of joint investment projects to the total amount of 3.7 billion somoni.  “14 agreements were signed on grants (474 million somoni) and 14 agreements were signed on loans (3.2 billion somoni),” the deputy minister noted.

“Tajikistan reached 95.1 percent of the expenditure part of the 2014 national budget,” Sohibov said, noting that 13.2 billion somoni were spent last year for development of the country’s economy, which was 1.7 billion somoni more than in 2013.
