DUSHANBE, July 1, 2015, Asia-Plus -- The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade projects a 12 percent average annual increase in electricity prices this year and a 6.8 percent average annual increase in electricity prices in 2016.
According to Tajikistan’s key macroeconomic indicators forecasts, electricity rates for residential customers will rise 12 percent this year and 7.1 percent in 2016.
This year, the price of one kWh of electricity for residential customers is projected to rise 12 percent to 14 dirams.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources and Barqi Tojik (Tajik electricity supplier) have not yet confirmed information about the possible increase in electricity prices.
We will recall that by government’s decree electricity prices in Tajikistan rose 15 percent on July 1 last year and current price of one kWh of electricity for residential customers is 12.6 dirams.
