DUSHANBE, July 2, 2015, Asia-Plus – A directory of mining companies operating in Tajikistan has been set up.
According to the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/ Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF-Tajikistan), the directory has been set up by a coalition entitled “Transparency for Development” in cooperation with the Main Geology Directorate under the Government of Tajikistan and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Secretariat at the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.
The directory reportedly contains information about twenty companies operating in the country. The directory and the map have been worked out under financial support of set up Open Society Institute/ Assistance Foundation.
The directory and the map are available on the website of the collation “Transparency for Development.”
The coalition ‘Transparency for Development’, comprising 21 civil society organizations, was established in September 2012.
