DUSHANBE, October 30, 2015, Asia-Plus – The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has suspended operations of five microlending organizations.
According to the NBT press center, five microlending organizations, namely Limited Liability Company Avlodon , Limited Liability Company Behnamo , Limited Liability Company Imkon 2010 , Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Omad and CJSC Umedi Yovon , were suspended from operating on October 29 for failing to comply with the NBT’s minimum capital requirements for the microlending organizations.
Tajik central bank notes that the level of agency of those microlending organizations in the country’s financial market has declined over the past several years.
The National Bank of Tajikistan reportedly recalled licenses of these microlending organizations and they were removed from the register of microlending organizations.
According to Tajik central bank, 136 lending organizations, including 17 banks, one non-bank credit institution, 41 microloan deposit organizations, 38 microlending organizations and 39 microloan funds now operate in Tajikistan.
