DUSHANBE, November 5, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Of 2,012 industrial enterprises registered in the country, 339 enterprises (17 percent) were not in operation over the first three quarters (January-September) of the year, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).
“Of them, 142 enterprises are located in Khatlon province, 79 in Sughd province, 61 in the districts subordinate to the center, 56 in Dushanbe, and one in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO),” an official source at a MoINT told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the main reasons for the standing idle of those enterprises are ‘lack of raw materials’ and ‘seasonal work’.
