DUSHANBE, November 26, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, has decided to resume flights to the Russian city of Surgut.

According to the Tajik Air press center, it will be the once-weekly service and Boeing 737 will be used for operating this flight.  The flight will be operated on Mondays.  A ticket for the flight reportedly costs Euro 210.

The first flight is expected to be operated on December 7, 2015.

Tajik Air (Tajikistan Airlines) is the national airline of Tajikistan.  The airline has its main hub at the Dushanbe airport, and it retains a secondary focus point at the Khujand airport.  The company started operations on September 3, 1924 as Tajik Aviation. Its first route was Bukhara to Dushanbe, served by Junkers F-13 aircraft.  It is the sixth oldest airline still in operation.

Tajik Air now serves the following destinations: China (Urumqi); India (New Delhi); Iran (Tehran); Kazakhstan (Almaty); Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek); Russia (Moscow, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg, Surgut, and Yekaterinburg); Tajikistan (Khorog, Khujand, and Vanj), and Turkey (Istanbul).

The fleet of Tajik AIR now consists of 37 aircraft; twelve of them, including 2 Boeing 757-200s, 2 Boeing 737-400s, 1 Boeing 737-300, 1 MA-60, two Antonov-28, one Antonov-26, and three helicopters MI-8MTB, are used to operate regular flights, while the remaining twenty-five aircraft are on a long-term storage.
