DUSHANBE, January 26, 2016, Asia-Plus – During a meeting with Managing Director of Iran Power & Water Industries & Services Export (SUNIR) Bahman Salehi, Advisor to Tajik Ambassador to Iran, Mr. Nezami called for contribution of the company to energy projects in Tajikistan, Iranian news agency IRNA reported on January 25.

Referring to existence of huge natural resources of coal and water in Tajikistan, Salehi welcomed invitation.

Salehi added that SUNIR can provide equipment as well as technical and engineering services for contractors in Tajikistan.

He added that SUNIR over the past two decades has implemented more than 200 projects in other countries.

According to IRNA , Tajik official referring to Tajikistan''s intention to implement power and water projects said that eastern Tajikistan has capacity for construction of electrical power plants in the form of ''BOT''.

Now, SUNIR is working on 17 projects worth more than 650 million dollars in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Oman, Iraqi Kurdistan, Armenia, Sri Lanka and Ethiopia.

In 2014, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran reportedly valued at US$267 million.  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Iran estimated at US$19 million and Tajikistan’s imports from Iran worth US$248 million.
