The American Chamber of Commerce in Tajikistan held a business breakfast January 29 th in Dushanbe Serena Hotel.
Over 40 international and local member companies of AmCham Tajikistan took part in the first event of 2016. Her Excellency Ms. Elisabeth I. Millard, the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan attended the event as well.
The business breakfast started with the opening remarks by the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, Ilhom Aliev, who gave an overview of AmCham Tajikistan’s achievements and future goals and directions.
Ambassador Millard highlighted the importance of economic collaboration and partnership between Tajikistan and the United States.
The Ambassador’s speech was followed by a rich discussion where the participating AmCham Tajikistan member companies, based on their experience, put forward questions concerning the improvement of trade relations between the United States and the Republic of Tajikistan, and expressed the importance of investment attraction and ways of improvement of the investment climate in Tajikistan.
The event also gave a unique opportunity to the business representatives to interact with Ambassador Millard in an informal setting.
The Association “American Chamber of Commerce in Tajikistan” (AmCham Tajikistan), having over 50 international and local member companies, is an open national business association established in Tajikistan in 2009.
The association mainly focuses in improving the free and favorable conditions for the entrepreneurship climate, and acts as a network platform where the business community of the country shares valuable information.
