DUSHANBE, March 16, 2016, Asia-Plus – Over the first three months of this year, inflation in Tajikistan has stood at 2.1 percent, according to the press center of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

In March, inflation reportedly stood at 0.2 percent, which was 0.3 percent fewer than in February.

The government expects the year-end inflation for this year to stand 7.5 percent, an official at Tajik central bank said.  

Meanwhile, the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan notes that prices of foodstuffs have risen over the first three months of this year by 1.7 percent.  Over the same three-month period, non-foodstuffs have risen in cost by 1.8 percent.  Over the first three months of this year, prices and rates for services rendered to the population have increased by 4.3 percent.

Last month, prices of foodstuffs fell by 0.3 percent and non-foodstuffs rose in cost by 0.7 percent in March.  Prices and rates for services rendered to the population last month increased by 1.0 percent.

Meanwhile, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations, the year-end inflation for 2016 is expected to stand at 6.40.  In the long-term, the Tajikistan Inflation rate is projected to trend around 5.00 percent in 2020, according to Trading Economics econometric models.

Tajikistan Inflation Rate forecasts are reportedly projected using an autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model calibrated using Trading Economics analysts’ expectations.
