DUSHANBE, July 27, 2016, Asia-Plus – A Tajik-Chinese forum on trade and economic cooperation took place in Dushanbe on July 26 in the framework of a visit of business delegation of China’s Shaanxi Province to Tajikistan.

The meeting was organized by Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) under support of the Tajik Government.

According to the CCI press center, the forum participants included representatives of more than 80 Tajik companies, including medium-sized and small enterprises.

Issues related to expansion of bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting.  Besides, negotiations were conducted in a B2B format to discuss delivery of Chinese goods and technologies to Tajikistan.

The forum resulted in signing of a cooperation agreement between Tajikistan’s CCI and the Council for the Promotion of International Trade of China’s Shaanxi Province.

Shaanxi is a province of the People''s Republic of China, officially part of the Northwest China region.  The fossil fuel and high technology sectors compose the two largest industries in Shaanxi province.  During 2009, the province ranked third in China for production of coal, natural gas and crude oil.  As the home of several of the leading universities and research institutes in Western China, Shaanxi province also plays a major role in China''s burgeoning aircraft and aerospace industries, producing more than 50% of the R&D and manufacturing equipment for the country''s domestic commercial air industry.  A number of economic and technological development zones have been established in the province.
