During his working visit to the northern Sughd province, President Emomali Rahmon has given start to a cotton-sowing campaign in the area.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon gave start to the cotton-sowing campaign in northern Tajikistan on March 25 while visiting the Farm named after Tursunboy Qushmatov in the Bobojonghafourov district.
The Farm named after Tursunboy Qushmatov is reportedly one of the advanced farming units in northern Tajikistan.
Last year, this farming unit planted cotton on an area of 658 hectares and an average cotton yield was 2.3 tons per hectare.
This, year, cotton growers from Tursunboy Qushmatov plan to plant cotton on 800 hectares, the website said.
