Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim announced that Tajikistan has achieved one of the strategic goals of the republic - breaking the communication impasse.
«You and I, with the instructions of our wise head, with our heads held high, were able to fulfill one of the important and priority tasks of the country's Strategic Program - the withdrawal of the republic from the communication impasse », - said in the congratulatory speech of the Minister dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the state independence of Tajikistan.
The Minister noted that during the years of independence, 53 state investment projects worth $ 1.8 billion were implemented in the country's transport sector.
He stressed that 2,183 km of roads, 237 bridges, 2 three-level and 2 two-level flyovers, 5 automobile tunnels, 3.4 km of avalanche-proof galleries, as well as 218.9 km of a railway with 5 bridges and 3 tunnels were built and reconstructed.
According to the head of the Ministry of Transport, at the moment 10 investment projects are being implemented for a total amount of over $ 623.2 million.
Azim Ibrohim called it "a very important achievement" to improve Tajikistan's position by 20 steps in the World Economic Forum's road quality rating over the past two years..
In this rating, Tajikistan ranks 50th among 141 countries of the world, being in second place in the CIS after Azerbaijan.
Earlier, in January of this year, Emomali Rahmon, during his address to parliament, announced "the sustainable and systematic development of the road transport sector in recent years, as a result of which the republic has achieved one of the strategic goals, that is, the country's withdrawal from the communication impasse".
