Saudi Arabia is reportedly ready to purchase fresh and dry fruits, honey and drinking water in Tajikistan.
The press center of the Export Development Agency under the Government of Tajikistan (Agency) says this issue was discussed at a meeting of the Agency Director Bahriddin Sirojiddinzoda with Saud Arabia’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Waleed bin Abdulrahman Alreshaidan, which took place here on July 4.
Sirojiddinzoda reportedly noted during the meeting that Saudi Arabia is rich in mineral resources and has experience in the fields of gas-and-oil industry, construction, financing and investment.
“Tajikistan also has significant potential in the fields of agriculture, hydropower and textile and could establish fruitful cooperation with Saudi companies,” Sirojiddinzoda was cited as saying.
For his part, Saudi diplomat reportedly expressed readiness to promote the expansion of cooperation between businesspeople of the two countries, further development of the bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan and the export of Tajik honey, fresh and dry fruits and drinking water to Saudi Arabia.
According to data from the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia over the first six months of this year has valued at about 121,000 US dollars. In 2022, the bilateral trade between the two countries valued at 276,000 US dollars.
