As of July 1, 2023, 81 legal entities have been registered in Tajikistan, which is engaged in entrepreneurship on social networks as a blogger, according to the Tax Committee under the government of the country.

Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of bloggers increased by 49 people.

According to the declarations of bloggers provided to the tax office, their income for the six months of this year amounted to 10 million somoni (about $ 918 thousand). 1.2 million somoni ($110 thousand) were allocated to the country's budget due to these revenues.

The Committee notes that they are taking the necessary measures to register bloggers as taxpayers.

In March of this year, the Tax Committee published the names of 29 well-known bloggers who, according to the agency, are engaged in "illegal business and do not pay taxes on their income."

Registration of bloggers in the tax authorities of Tajikistan began in 2020.

"According to the tax legislation, all people who have income must pay income tax. So why should people who do physical work and earn money with difficulty have to pay taxes, and bloggers who easily earn even more should not?" - one of the employees of the Tax Committee said earlier in an interview with Asia-Plus.
