Kazakhstan has delivered 5,000 tons of fuel oil to Tajikistan as part of a humanitarian aid package valued at approximately $1.65 million. The official handover ceremony took place in Dushanbe on September 30, attended by representatives from both countries.
The fuel delivery certificate was presented to the leadership of Tajikistan’s Agency for State Material Reserves by Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Valikhan Turekhanov.
In his remarks, Ambassador Turekhanov emphasized that the aid reflects the long-standing strategic partnership between the two nations. The donation, totaling 893.7 million Kazakhstani tenge, was facilitated through Kazakhstan’s international development agency, KazAID.
According to the ambassador, the fuel aid will help strengthen Tajikistan’s energy security and stands as a symbol of good neighborly relations and mutual support that define Kazakhstan-Tajikistan ties.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the decision to provide the fuel oil was made under the directive of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and aims to support the stable operation of Tajikistan’s energy facilities.
Over the past five years, Kazakhstan has provided more than $21 million in humanitarian assistance to Tajikistan, bringing the total value of aid since the start of bilateral cooperation to over $44 million.
The two Central Asian nations continue to deepen collaboration across various sectors, including energy, with numerous joint projects and agreements underscoring their strategic alliance.
