Police officer detained in Moscow for beating Tajik students

has been detained on suspicion of having been involved in the beating of Tajik students at a hostel of
Russia

Management
University
in
Moscow
, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.
According to RIA Novosti, the detained policeman faces charges of hooliganism and robbery. In near future, official charges will be brought against him;
Moscow
prosecutors are currently investigating the matter, the news agency reported.
As it had been reported earlier, Wednesday evening [June 7]

police officers, about six persons, burst into room of student from
Tajikistan
at a hostel of

University
and beat Tajik students who were in the room. The police officers also took the students’ money and mobile phones. According to Muhammad Egamzod, press secretary of the Tajik Embassy in
Moscow
, five Students were hospitalized.
