DUSHANBE, August 28, Asia-Plus -- A minor earthquake jolted Dushanbe yesterday, at around 5:32 p.m., according to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
The MES source says the tremor that struck Tajik capital Sunday late afternoon was in the 2.0-2.2-pont range on the 12-point scale commonly used in Tajikistan. In the epicenter, which was roughly 50 kilometers west of Dushanbe, the tremor’s magnitude was in the 3.5-point range on the 12-point scale.
No damage or injured was reported, according to the source. We will recall that it is already the fourth earthquake over the past two months. Experts says Tajikistan has been shaken by more than 200 earthquakes so far this year.
