QURGHON TEPPA, May 26, Asia-Plus /Sayrahmon Nazriyev/ -- Obid Qayumov, sergeant of military unit 87740 of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), stationed in the Khatlon province, with bullet was brought the Jomi central district hospital on May 25.     

According to the military prosecutor’s office at the Qurghon Teppa garrison, the serviceman was wounded during standing guard.  “Qayumov underwent an operation and is now in stable health condition,” the source at the military prosecutor’s office said.    

Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.  

Obid Qayumov was conscripted for military service from Sughd’s Panjakent district last November.
