KHUJAND, September 4, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Four persons were killed and at least three others were injured Wednesday morning as a car Mitsubishi fell into precipice in the northern Sughd province.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Khudoiberdi Qodriberdiyev, deputy head of the Sughd emergency management agency, said that the accident took place on the 220th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Khujand highway at around 7:00 a.m.
“The car pulled in to the side of the road and fell into the precipice,” the Sughd emergencies official said. As a result of the accident, four persons, including Nourmahmad Abdurahmatov, Ayubjon Muhiddinov, Mirshamir Mirdisoqov and Firdavs Nabiyev, died at the scene of accident and three others, including Farhod Yuldoshev, Abdurahmon Yuldoshev and Shuhrat Qayumov, sustained different injuries.
Bodies of those killed in the accident were taken to Shahriston and the injured were taken to the local hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
