DUSHANBE, May 21, 2009, Asia-Plus -- China’s Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi yesterday sent a telegram of condolences to his Tajik counterpart, Hamrokhon Zarifi, over recent disasters in Tajikistan that had caused casualties among the population, according to the MFA information department.
In his message, Yang noted that he was shocked to learn about mudflows, floods and other natural disasters that had caused casualties among the population and brought significant damage to the country’s economy.
Chinese FM asked to convey his deep condolences to families and relatives of the disaster victims, the information department said.
