DUSHANBE, July 15, 2009, Asia-Plus -- To help residents of Tajikistan cope with the heavy rainfalls and mudslides that hit the country in the past spring, the Government of Azerbaijan allocated 100,000 US dollars to the Government of Tajikistan for emergency supplies to families affected by the unusually heavy rainfalls, according to the Azeri Embassy in Dushanbe.
The assistance has been coordinated with the Azeri Cabinet of Ministers and provided in response to Tajikistan’s appeal for help to mitigate effects of the disasters.
