DUSHANBE, August 12, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Two women were buried alive when a landslide hit the area near the village of Ayni in Khatlon’s Khuroson district yesterday, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES).
The source at a CES told Asia-Plus today that the Buronova sisters – the 40-year-old Boltagul and the 33-year-old Nigina – and the 13-year-old daughter of one of them were collecting clay for producing sun-dried bricks when the landslide occurred.
“The women were killed in the landslide and the girl received serious wounds and was taken to the hospital,” the source said.
