DUSHANBE, October 17, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A fire broke out near Dushanbe’s Korvon market yesterday night.
According to the main firefighting directorate within the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the fire broke out in a private cafeteria, Temurjon, belonging to local entrepreneur Muzaffar Rahimov. According to him, the fire that was first reported at about 11:30 p.m. then spread to the nearby dealer center. “A space of 120 square meters was enveloped in flame,” said the source, “12 firefighting were involved in extinguishing the fire and it was put out in 37 minutes.”
No injuries were reported, according to the source. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
