DUSHANBE, November 16, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Two fatal traffic accidents registered in Tajikistan on Sunday left four and at least four injured, according to the Tajik traffic police directorate.
One of these accidents took place in the Khatlon province, not far from the city of Kulob. “The driver of Opel-Vectra Sharifkhon Davlatov violated rules of road, went into oncoming traffic and crashed his car into a minivan,” said the source, “As a result of the collision, three persons were killed and three others were injured.”
Another fatal accident took place in Sughd’s Jabborrasulov district. A minivan Gazel went into oncoming traffic and collided with a Daewoo-Tico. As a result of the accident, one person was killed and one other was injured.
According to the Tajik traffic police, 1,445 traffic accidents have been registered in the country since the beginning of this year. 404 people have been killed and 1,767 others have been injured in those accidents.
