DUSHANBE, December 1, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Two persons were killed ad two others were injured on November 30 as a Nexia sedan ran over cyclists in the southern Khatlon province.
According to the Tajik traffic police directorate, the accident took place in the settlement named after Isoyev in the Rumi district.
“Nexia hit four cyclists; two cyclists – 27-year-old Bakhtiyor Rouziyev and 21-year-old Isroil Nourliyev – died on the spot, while two others – 35-year-old Hakimjon Rouziyev and 27-year-old Murod Rouziyev – sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized.,” said the source, “The driver escaped from the scene of accident.”
As a result of measures taken by traffic police office, the driver has been identified – he proved to be 26-year-old Umed Nosirov. Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
