DUSHANBE, March 9, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Unidentified persons have reportedly beaten an officer from the GBAO counternarcotics directorate.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the Khorog police department received an application from Tillobek Odinabekov, chief of the operational department within the GBAO counternarcotics directorate, on March 8. “According to Odinabekov, unknown person assaulted and beat him at the border marketplace in Khorog’s neighborhood Tem on March 6. Odinabekov was hospitalized with bodily injuries,” the source at a MoI said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
