DUSHANBE, August 24, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The operation for search for the escaped prisoners is underway in Tajikistan.
Mahmadsaid Jouraqulov, the director of the Interpol National Central Bureau in Dushanbe, told Asia-Plus Tuesday afternoon that all law enforcement agencies of the country have got involved in search for the escaped prisoners.
“Officers from the Interpol National Central Bureau together with officers from other power-wielding structures of Tajikistan are working to reveal the fugitives’ whereabouts,” Jouraqulov added.
We will recall that the General Assembly of Interpol voted in Mexico on 5 October, 2004 to accept Tajikistan as the organization''s 182nd member state.
Tajik law enforcement authorities say that today it is impossible to fight crime effectively on one''s own without international cooperation, and Tajikistan''s admission to Interpol has broadened their potential.
