KHUJAND, October 20, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Uzbek border shot at Tajik national who was on Tajik territory and did not cross the border.
The incident took place in the Shirinsaroy area near the border village of Khishtiyak in Spitamen district, Sughd province Tuesday afternoon.
The source at the Sughd police directorate says Uzbek border guard shot at the 25-year-old Erkin Niyozaliyev without warning. “Niyozaliyev was pasturing cattle on Tajik territory when Uzbek border guard shot at him without any cause,” he said.
Erkin Niyozaliyev sustained wound on his right leg and was taken the central district hospital in Spitamen.
