DUSHANBE, April 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Two school students and one student from Russia-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) are suspected of inflicting serious bodily injuries.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Farrukh Mukhtorov, 17, 11th grade student from Tajik-Turkish Lyceum, Umed Aminov, 17, 11th grade student from School # 9, and Farhod Subhonqulov, 18, first-year student from RTSU, yesterday attacked the Kholmatov brothers (both are students at RTSU). They beat the brothers and inflicted a number of stab wounds on them.
The Kholmatov brothers were hospitalized. One of them is currently at the National Medical Center and the other one was taken to another hospital.
The National Medical Center head physician Abdullo Pirov says the younger brother was taken to their hospital. “He sustained stab wounds in his neck and his health condition is assessed as serious,” Pirov said.
The elder brother sustained stab wounds in his stomach.
The assailants were detained straight after the incident. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
