DUSHANBE, October 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Two persons have been wounded in an armed attack on a currency exchange office in Dushanbe, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI says the incident took place in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district Monday (October 24) evening.
“Unidentified assailants in masks burst into the currency exchange office, located not far from the Shohmansour bazaar, and threatening with Makarov, they tried to rob the currency exchange office,” the source said. “The currency exchange office owner, N.N., 54, and his two sons – N.T., 22, and N,N,, 19 – resisted the attack. Both his sons sustained wounds and were hospitalized.”
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
