DUSHANBE, January 25, 2012, Asia-Plus -- One person was killed and at least one other was serious injured on January 24 as a car crashed into a pole in Dushanbe, according to the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate.
“The accident took place yesterday night on Jabborrasoulov Street,” said the source, “A.N., 23, probably failed to control his Opel Astra and ran it into the power transmission line pole.”
The driver died in hospital, while his passenger – 20-year-old M.M. -- is currently in the intensive therapy unit.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
