DUSHANBE, February 28, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Warmer temperatures caused a series of avalanches that blocked in several place the highway that connects Dushanbe to the northern part of Tajikistan.
A source at Innovative Road Solutions (IRS), which operates the toll highway from Dushanbe to Chanak on the Uzbek border, notes the avalanches blocked the road on the 56th kilometer and the section of the highway from the 71st to the 72nd kilometer.
The company specialists are expected to clear the highway of snow in a couple of hours, the source said.
