The tragedy occurred last Saturday, April 14th, in Dushanbe.
According to Tajik Interior Ministry, the accident happened at around 11p.m. on Sherozi avenue (not far from Tajiktextile factory) when “a 21-year-old driver of BMW vehicle hit two women, 44 and 28 years of age, when they were coming back home after finishing work in one of the cafés. They were hit when they were crossing the road. Both died at the scene.”
A criminal case was launched, investigation is under way.
Eyewitnesses told the AP that the vehicle was driving too fast. Furthermore, many readers of the AP complain about the fact that businessmen, who own small shops in a subway, which is located close to the scene, close the subway for a nighttime. In this situation, passengers who return home at night, have to risk their lives when crossing the road.
