DUSHANBE, July 27, 2012, Asia-Plus – Kyrgyz media sources report that in connection with the difficult situation in the neighboring Tajikistan Kyrvgyz border guards serving on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border have been put on alert.
“Control of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Gorno Badakhshan has been strengthened, Ms. Gulmira Borubayeva, a spokeswoman for Kyrgyzstan’s Border Guard Service, was quoted as saying by KirTAG.
“However, there will be no restrictions for people proceedings via the border crossing checkpoints,” Ms. Borubayeva said, noting that additional security measures have been taken.
