DUSHANBE, August 27, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Five persons were killed on August 26 as a car fell into the Fon-Daryo River in the northern Sughd province, an official source at the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate said.
According to him, the accident took place Sunday morning in the Ayni district. “Davron Nabiyev, 26, probably failed to control his Mercedes-Benz and it went into coming traffic and collided with Mitsubishi-Pajero, driven by Bakhtiyor Abdulloyev, 41” said the source. “As a result of the collision, Mercedes fell into the Fon-Daryo River. The driver and his four passengers, including two children, were drowned in the river.”
The cause of the accident is under way.
