KHUJAND, June 25, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Four persons were killed on June 24 as two cars collided with each other in the northern province of Sughd.
According to the Interior Ministry’s office for Sughd, the accident took place on the 316th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway.
“Opel-Astra, driven by Mr. Bakhtiyor Aliyev, 26, went into oncoming traffic and collided with Opel-Astra, driven by Ms. Zarina Hakimova, 36.” said an official source at the Interior Ministry’s office for Sughd. “As a result of the collision, both drivers and their two passengers died on the spot.”
According to the statistical data from the traffic police department of the Interior Ministry’s office for Sughd, 114 traffic accidents have been reported in the province over the first five months of this year. 45 persons have been killed and at least 119 others have been injured in those accidents.
