DUSHANBE, July 23, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Major part of Dushanbe will be left without water today, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus today morning.
“Today, from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, water supply will be suspended fully in the Ismoili Somoni district and partially in the Shohmansour, Sino and Firdavsi districts,” Saidov said.
According to him, water supply has been suspended as the diversion canal providing water to Dushanbe has been closed for carrying out the search operation for the body of young man who drowned two days ago.
Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev ordered heads of Dushanbe’s districts to take measures to provide Dushanbe residents with water.
“The mayor also ordered the Dushanbe emergency management agency to conclude the search operation by 12:20,” the spokesman said.
