DUSHANBE, August 10, 2013, Asia-Plus – Three persons were killed and at least two others were injured on August 8 as a car fell into the river in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the accident took place in the Sodrogh area, Darvoz district. Saydali Nazmishoyev, 60, lost control of his Mercedes and it fell into the Panj River.
Nazmishoyev and one of his passengers, Nematullo Davlatov, 37, reportedly managed to jump out of the car and kept alive while three other passengers, all of them women, drowned in the river. Search operation for their bodies is under way.
