DUSHANBE, October 28, 2013, Asia-Plus – Four persons were killed and at least three others were injured on October 27 as a vehicle fell into a river in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the accident took place near the village of Shpat in the Rushan district.
Maqsoud Sufishoyev, 22, was apparently driving his Land Cruiser above the speed limit when it ran into a rock and fell into the Panj River.
The driver and his three passengers – Husnizuhal Farhodova, 4, Kokulbek Zuhurbekov, 78 and Qurbondavlat Nematova, 48 – were killed in the accident while there other passengers sustained various injuries and were taken to the central district hospital in Rushan, the website said.
