DUSHANBE, December 14, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Personnel of the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan is expected to be put on alert beginning on December 16.
Orif Nozimov, a spokesman for CES, says the CES leadership has ordered CES’s offices in the regions to take measures to ensure their preparedness for cold weather and heavy precipitation that may start in the country beginning on December 16.
“During these days, rescue services will be on alert,” said the spokesman. “CES’s offices in the regions are tasked to be ready to provide assistance to the population and mitigate effects of possible natural disasters.”
