DUSHANBE, January 30, 2014, Asia-Plus – A delegation of the OSCE Center in Bishkek has gone to Batken to get acquainted with the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik-Kyrgyz, representative of the OSCE Center in Bishkek, Ms. Svetlana Levina, told Asia-Plus Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile Kyrgyz media sources have cited Swiss Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Rene Holenstein as saying that Switzerland is ready to act as mediator and provide assistance to settle the Kyrgyz-Tajik border incident via the OCE Center in Bishkek.
Representatives of the OSCE Center in Dushanbe neither confirmed nor refused this information. They just said that such assistance might be provided only after an appeal of the conflicting sides.
The Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan refrained from commenting on this information.
