KULOB, February 17, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Kulob pretrial detention facility chief’s request to cut his hair has ended in tragedy.
According the Interior Ministry’s office in Kulob, a barber from Kulob Umed Teshayev, who was serving his jail term of 17 years for murder, killed Colonel Umar Qayumov, the warden of the Kulob pretrial detention facility, with scissors on February 16.
“Tragedy occurred when Colonel Umarov asked Umed Teshayev to cut his hair,” an official source at Interior Ministry’s office in Kulob told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Meanwhile, Kulob resident Abdurahmon Aliyev, whose son Abdurasoul Aliyev was killed by Umed Teshayev in August 2013, recently released an open letter to President Emomali Rahmon, in which he noted that the sentence passed on his son’s killer was too mild. According to him, Teshayev stabbed his son to death.
“The forensic medical examination has established that my son was dead after Teshayev inflicted ten stab wound son him, but Teshayev inflicted 47 other stab wounds on him after that,” Abdurahmon Aliyev noted in his letter.
