DUSHANBE, April 30, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda yesterday visited Khuroson, Qubodiyon and Jilikul districts in Khatlon province to get acquainted with work on mitigating effects of natural disasters that affected these districts this month.
Subhiddin Muhiddinov, a senior consultant to the president’s press service, says the prime minister ordered administrators of the Khuroson district to take adequate measures to provide disaster-affected people with safe drinking water, temporary shelter, food products and medical service.
Damage caused by natural disaster to this district, where three residential buildings were destroyed completely, was estimated at 900,000 somoni, Muhiddinov noted.
While in Qubodiyon and Jilikul districts, Qohirzoda reportedly got acquainted with preparations for irrigation season and the process of mitigating disaster effects.
“In these districts, recent floods partially damaged 25 residential buildings and affected areas under crops,” Muhiddinov said.
