DUSHANBE, May 18, 2015, Asia-Plus -- A driver has inflicted three stab wounds on a traffic police officer in the Tajik southern city of Kulob.
An official source at the Interior Ministry’s office in Khatlon says the incident took place on May 16. “While on duty, Major Suhrob Ismonqulov tried to stop Nexia driven by Mirzoahmad Kamolov but the latter ignored his order,” said the source. “When Ismonqulov caught up with Kamolov and asked him to show his driving license, Kamolov inflicted three stab wounds on him and escaped.”
Ismonqulov was taken to hospital in a serious condition, according to the source.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Mirzoahmad Kamolov and an investigation is under way.
