DUSHANBE, May 11, 2016, Asia-Plus -- Mudslides caused by heavy rains have killed three people in Tajikistan''s north.
Officials in Sughd province told Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service in Tajikistan on May 10 that two residents of the village of Revad -- 41-year-old Lola Tuighunova and her 18-year-old son, Ismat Rustamov -- were killed by mudslides on May 9.
Local authorities said the mudslides also killed Toshboi Khujamqulov, a 56-year-old resident of another village, Shurcha.
Tajik authorities said on May 10 that the mudslides have damaged numerous homes, major infrastructure, and municipal buildings in the area.
