Six people were killed and two others injured Wednesday (March 8) as VAZ-21099 went into oncoming traffic in the Danghara district of Khatlon province.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the accident took place at about 9:30 am. The 27-year-old resident of Farkhor district reportedly could not control his VAZ-21099 and it went into oncoming traffic and collided with Opel-Astra driven by the 43-year-old resident of the city of Kulob.
As a result of the head-on collision, the driver of VAZ-21099, three his passengers and two passengers of Opel-Astra died on the spot.
The Opel-Astra driver and his 80-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized, the website said.
